The Lighthouse Collaborative is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s vision, with an emphasis on expanding the DOE’s ability to scale, sustain, and restore what works through organized inquiry and sharing of promising practices.
The Lighthouse Collaborative (LC) is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s Four Pillars, with an emphasis on expanding our ability to “scale, sustain and restore what works” through collaborative inquiry and sharing of promising practices. To achieve this, Lighthouse schools are supported to engage in each of the following LC program components:
Interschool Learning Communities (ILCs): All Lighthouse schools are grouped into a small cohort of schools with a common instructional focus area. The cohort comes together regularly to engage in inquiry work within the instructional focus area.
Lighthouse Visits: All Lighthouse schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area.
Resource-sharing: All Lighthouse schools curate resources, tools and strategies for visitors that are made available to schools Citywide via digital platforms.
